Kenzie broken arm

Well, Mackenzie was finally trying the monkey bars all by herself and she fell and broke her arm :(  She had been trying them with me helping and she finally said she could do it so I walked away and that is when she fell.  I took her to the ER and they put a splint on.  The next day she had to be put asleep to set the bone and cast it.  She did awesome with the procedure.  All of the staff told her she was the best kid patient they ever had.  She was very proud of herself for being so brave.  Kenzie was very upset that she can't do gymnastics for a few months and cant do soccer too.  Her mood was very sad.  As a parent it is the hardest thing I have watched because she really is sad.  However, she has some of the best friends and family to help get her out of her funk.  I was very surprised by the flood of love, cards, visitors and gifts.  Everyone has made her feel so special!!  We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!!!

Well, after 3 weeks of healing her bone was at a 32 degree angle so the doctor had to put pins in. She had her surgery yesterday and she is doing great.  I will write another post later about that surgery!  A huge thank you to all of you who have made this so much easier for my Mackenzie!  We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives!!

Winter Soccer Season

The girls palyed soccer through the winter.  It was Riley's 2nd season playing and Mackenzie's 1st time ever playing.  They did a great job.  They both scored goals at almost all the games :)  Mackenzie got MVP offensive player with 11 goals for the season.  It is so much fun to see them play!  They both have so much fun!

Fresh Beat Band

A few weeks ago we went to the Fresh Beat Band concert.  If you don't know who they are it is a show on Nickelodeon and they sing and dance.  It actually is pretty cute.  Anyways, my mom was in town and so she went with me.  The girls LOVED it so much.  I have never seen them so happy at a thing like that.  They were dancing and singing the whole time!  It really was a great show.

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Last week Mackenzie had a Daddy/Daughter dance at her school.  She was so excited to go.  I took her shopping for a new dress to where and she loved picking the very perfect one.  I also lucked out on that because it was only $8!  Anyways, she wanted me to curl her hair and put a little makeup on for the dance.  I did that and she looked so beautiful.  Lewis got her a corsage to to wear too and that just made her whole night.  Lewis said that the night was a lot of fun.  He said she was so cute talking to all her friends and dancing with him.  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at that!  Riley felt a little left out so I did her hair all pretty and got her dressed up and Lewis took her to dinner after the dance.  That made Riley so happy!  I just love all these precious moments between Lewis and the girls!

Valentines Day 2012

We had a great Valentines Day this year.  I wanted to make it special for the girls.  We started with heart shaped doughnut which was a big hit.  Then they both went to school and handed out their Valentines to their class.  They both were very excited to come home and show us what they got.  I enjoyed listening to Mackenzie READ all her cards!  Then we took them out for lunch because they love to go out.  We gave them their presents and they loved them!  Mackenzie got a peace sign leo for gymnastics and she was SOOOOOOO happy!  Riley got an accessory to go with her light sprites that she got for Christmas.  Then we ate heart shaped pizza while we watched Mr. Poppers Penguins and finished with a smores pizza (sooo yummy)  All in all I think we all enjoyed having family time because we don't normally get a full day of fun together :)

I think she liked her leo!
